How to Rehydrate Dried Chick Peas

DSCI1712 Dried pulses are so cheap to buy and you can make savings on buying these as opposed to their tinned counterparts by simply rehydrating them at home.

Ingredients

200g dried chick peas

Water

Method

  • In a medium sized saucepan, put the chick peas and cover with cold water. Place in the fridge for 12 hours.
  • Rinse the water and add fresh, place on a medium-high heat and bring to the boil, cooking for 15 minutes.
  • Turn down the heat and simmer for a further 60 munutes. Drain hot water away and allow the chick peas to cool.
  • When cool, place in an air tight container and cover with fresh, cold water. Store in the fridge until required.
